Amy Lemley Bailey has been in magazine publishing for over 8 years and is regionally known as ‘The Fashionista’. Bailey began her magazine career interning at Southern Living. She then moved to New York to work for Us Weekly and enjoyed working on the Us Grammy’s After Party, Oscars Preview Events and the Us Fashion Week Daily. In addition to meeting numerous celebrities and media personalities, Bailey enjoyed working with key fashion industry clients. Moving back to Birmingham and continuing her magazine publishing career in Sales and Marketing at Birmingham Magazine, Bailey not only worked in sales, but also on various special events and appeared on regular NBC segments speaking on fashion, gift ideas, and more. Because of her TV experience, Bailey was chosen for a primetime ABC special for A Girl’s Night Out in Nashville that was nationally broadcast. Bailey was also profiled in Us Weekly Magazine and regularly highlighted in regional media, establishing herself as a style expert.
Inspired by magazine publishing and fashion, Bailey always wanted to publish her own style magazine. It became abundantly clear with the way the world is going that the way to do this would be to establish an online magazine with email marketing. She founded her own company My Scoop Media in Summer 2007. My Scoop is an online style magazine with emphasis on the South. With a website, blog, email marketing, Scoopette card, My Scoop Wish Lists, and events, My Scoop has branded itself as the Southern source for style. My Scoop focuses on fashion, beauty, posh pads, haute travel, and must haves and has quickly become the buzz of our region.
Bailey hosts My Scoop’s own special events like the Want It! Party at Saks, the My Favorite Things Holiday Party, Beaus and Belles, and Yummy Mummy. She also attends Fashion Week in New York.
Living in Birmingham, Bailey founded YP Birmingham, an organization that hosts social events to bring together ambitious like-minded young professionals in the area. In addition to this group Bailey is involved with the Bromberg’s Advisory Board, Birmingham Venture Club, Junior League of Birmingham, Alabama Ballet Board, Red Mountain Theatre Board, Zoo Junior Board, and volunteers her support to fundraising events across the region.
